During renovations at this Los Naranjos villa, MTL was asked to retrofit the cabling for eight Hikvision ColorVu Hybrid cameras. The challenge was to bring the camera connections across the property to a separate, adjacent garage housing the recording equipment.

During renovations at this Los Naranjos villa, MTL was asked to retrofit the cabling for eight Hikvision ColorVu Hybrid cameras. The challenge was to bring the camera connections across the property to a separate, adjacent garage housing the recording equipment.
The installation
We chased cable routes into the property as part of the renovation works, concealing the infrastructure within the fabric of the building. All eight camera runs lead back to the garage, where the NVR provides a central recording point with 6 TB of storage. Planning these routes during the works meant the network could be integrated before the final finishes.
The result
A wired CCTV installation with the recording equipment kept together away from the main living spaces. The project demonstrates the value of considering security during a renovation: the visible cameras are only one part of the system; the concealed cable routes and central equipment location are what tie it together.
